Hello, and welcome to my photo blog. My name is Torrey. I am from California but I will be living in Amsterdam for all of 2009. I decided that it would be a neat project for me to keep a photo blog while I lived here, like "Amsterdam Daily Photo" but diffrent. I am not a professional photographer, nor do I have a super fancy camera, I just love to take pictures and have loved to for as long as I can remember.
This will be the only time you will see text on this blog, so enjoy while you can. I have other blogs with plenty of text. This blog is for people to get a general visual overview of Amsterdam and what it looks like day to day over the course of a year as seasons change, people change, and the city ebbs and flows.
Feel free to post comments, questions about the location where a picture was taken, etc. I will try to answer them all.

I just got back from Amsterdam 2 months ago, I have visited twice now and I love it more than words can describe. I am from NC and have often thought about moving over there for a year, how easy of a transition has it been for you? Do you work while living there? Or did you just save up for a while to live abroad for a year? How easy was finding housing? Where do you start if you wanted to relocate to Holland for a year? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated, and rest assured I have bookmarked your blog and will check back often!

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I want to share personal details on this blog, but I'll say that my husband is working here and I am a student. We are only living here temporarily. The transition has been easy in some ways and challenging in others. But, I do recommend it.

Hey, great blog! I love your photos. They really are amazing! Great way for me to learn some Dutch too - "hond" - it's like a Dutch picture dictionary!
